Foreign company and tax residence: why one does not replace the other
It is the most common mistake: setting up a company in a low-tax country in the belief that you will pay less yourself. A foreign company does not change your personal tax position. Only residence does, and it cannot simply be declared.

What a foreign company does not do
A company abroad does not move your home, your 183 days or your centre of vital interests. As long as you live, work and keep your family in your country, that is where you are taxed on your personal income.
Worse: if you run the company from your country of residence, the place of effective management remains enforceable. Our Estonia profile points this out: the tax authority of the country from which the company is really run may treat it as taxable there.
What actually changes your tax
Tax residence is the only item that genuinely changes your position. It rests on real presence: a home, the 183 days, the centre of your interests. An address or a residence permit is not enough on its own.
That is why our service covers the genuine transfer of residence, not a document. It starts at €2,490 depending on the country. Nothing here is tax advice: your case is checked during the scoping call.
Four routes we handle
Published prices, government fees included, excluding travel.
- Georgia: residence through the sole trader route or real estate investment; published at €2,790.
- Paraguay: permanent residence and steps towards the tax residence certificate; published at €2,490.
- United Arab Emirates: two-year investor visa, local identity card and renewal; published at €3,290.
- Switzerland: expenditure-based taxation, with a cantonal ruling negotiated before arrival; see the Switzerland · expenditure-based taxation package.
Paraguay, the territorial example
Paraguay applies territoriality: foreign-source income is not taxed there. But a Paraguayan address does not make you a tax resident: the certificate requires genuine presence in the country.
Administrative timelines there are long and unpredictable. In return, annual upkeep is among the lowest once residence is obtained.
Georgia, the 1% status example
In Georgia, small business status allows taxation at 1% of turnover, up to GEL 500,000. It requires registration on site, and tax residence requires the 183 days.
The rate only makes sense for a resident. The rule is always the same: the structure follows residence, never the other way round.
In what order to proceed
First decide where you are really going to live, then obtain residence, and only then choose and form the company that goes with it. The reverse order produces structures that cost money without saving any.
