Share capital: what each jurisdiction requires

The share capital each profile carries, region by region. A legal minimum is only called a “minimum” when it is sourced; elsewhere it is the usual capital recorded, or the customary authorised capital of international companies.

Authorised, paid-up, minimum

The authorised capital of many international companies does not have to be paid in: it is a ceiling of shares that may be issued, not a blocked sum. A legal minimum, by contrast, is paid in under the country's law — in Switzerland, for example, into a blocked bank account until registration.

Each profile states the nature of the amount it shows. The ranking repeats its wording as is.
